MBFS’s support of the non-profit Art Road project finds and encourages those emerging artists early on. Art Road provides special arts activity classes, including supplies and an instructor, at no cost to elementary schools that lack art programs."

May 31, 2012 "Truck brings art lesson to DPS students" article in The Detroit News
"Art lessons took place Thursday inside a 53-foot semi-trailer parked outside Spain Elementary, brought to the school by Art Road, a nonprofit organization that provides arts activity classes, including supplies and an instructor at no cost to elementary schools that lack art programs.
The trailer, donated by MRA, a company in the business of experiential tours and equipment known for its Museums in Motion vehicles, expands to 22 feet and has been stocked with tables, chairs, lights, art supplies and several volunteers who helicopter around tables, asking students to talk about their drawings and offering encouragement."

June 29, 2009: Campers make artwork for Beaumont Hospital, Grosse Pointe
Art Road students decorated a glass panel during a special Art Road camp at Edison Elementary School in Detroit.
Dr. Anne Marie McCarren, Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Beaumont Hospital, Grosse Pointe, was instrumental in creating this opportunity. Her donation to the Beaumont Foundation made possible the Art Road Nonprofit Art Camp and the glass artwork created by the students and artist Todd Patrick.
The panel will be used in an original piece of art that is on display in Patient Registration at the Grosse Pointe hospital.
