Daimler Financial Services Volunteer Day
With the help of Daimler Financial Services, we were able to renovate the art room by refinishing the floors and rehabilitating an old unused greenhouse attached to the art room. The full project is available to review.

Daimler Financial Services Volunteer Day:

Art Road Nonprofit teamed up with Daimler Financial Services to bring art back to life at Edison Elementary School in Detroit.

On Friday, June 26, 2009, 45 employees of Daimler Financial Services in Farmington Hills worked with students to bring life back to the art room at Edison Elementary, 17045 Grand River in Detroit, where Art Road Nonprofit teaches art to school kids whose art program had been cut over eight years ago.

Daimler Financial Services is funding the renovation project, including the new basketball courts. Employees representing Daimler Financial Services Marketing cleaned and painted the art room, painted plant troughs in the greenhouse, painted the new basketball courts and did general clean up of the playground. Selected employees and students, meanwhile, worked on painting a mural outside the art room created by local award-winning artist Todd Patrick.

Adopt Mustang Sally!

A $10,000 donation to Art Road will allow us to bring art class to 40 students for the entire school year. And, you will be the proud owner of Mustang Sally. Created on March 26, 2010 by 125 Art Road students and fourteen volunteers, the giant art dog was inspired by lovable thirteen-inch-tall "art dogs" created by students in our classrooms.  Contact us if you want to know more about adopting Mustang Sally.
