Thank-you notes from Art Road students display their rediscovered creativity.

About the Art Experience Program

The Art Experience Program offers after-school art activities, once per month at Kaiser Elemntary School and Willow Run Elementary School. The classes are led by Carol Hofgartner. There are approximately 25 children enrolled in the program at each site.

Planned Art Experience Program Modules

ART through Art:
Artists develop students' creativity by exploring various mediums while answering questions from the curious students. The artists will tell their stories of their art endeavors.

ARCHITECTURE through Art:
Architects enlighten the students about design and creating spaces. The students will have the opportunity to make their own floor plans and view the hand drawn and computer plans of the architects.

AUTOMOTIVE DESIGN through Art:
The students will witness the designers create a concept vehicle on paper and present their own concept vehicles to the class.

BANKING through Art:
Piggy Banks will be painted by the students and taken home to create a savings of their own. The banking professionals will discuss the importance of saving money and bank accounts for children.

BUSINESS through Art:
Art works will be made and sold by the students to learn the business side of art. Time, materials and pricing will be discussed with the students for them to understand the concept of profit.

COMMUNITY SERVICE through Art:
We will put a smile on the faces of children in the hospital by making hand- crafted cards. The students will discover the joy of using their creativity to make a difference in the lives of others.

CONSTRUCTION through Art:
Build buildings out of legos, boxes or wood blocks to create a city, while the builders answer questions about their role in the construction industry.

LAW through Art:
Students to discuss with the lawyers their rules in the classroom and make symbols to represent their ideas for change in the classroom.

MEDIA/PRINT through Art:
Film and print discussed while mapping out a plan for a video the students produce.

MEDICINE through Art:
Students to trace the outline of their partners body while doctors discuss the human anatomy in broad terms.
